Ex- Real Madrid Midfielder Xabi Alonso Tax Case Reopened

The Spanish court have reopened an earlier investigation into an alleged tax fraud by Xabi Alonso.

The charges relate to an allegation of financial offences by the player between the year 2010 and 2012, when he sold his image rights to a company in Portugal for €5million, but which were originally deemed to not have criminal liability.

It was reportedly alleged that these monies were fraudulently diverted away from the Spanish state and a court case is now filled against the player, who ended his playing career last year.
