Two Nigeria Players Suffer Racial Abuse in Germany

Mainz 05 players, Leon Balagun and Anthony Ujah Joshuawere subject to racial abuse during a bundisliga match against Hannover 96 on Saturday.

Balogun, who got upset at the racist chants, wrote on his twitter handle and voiced his displeasure at the bigotry abuse from the home fans. Ujah and I were racially abuse with ape kind of noise as we warmed up in front of the Hannover 96 fc fans block.

We were shocked that such attitudes still persist in Bundisliagawhere players of different skin colours fight hard to make their fans happy. We play our best for the fans week in week out, but the fans don’t give us respect. Such bigotry abuse should not be condoled anywhere in the world.

The player outburst appeared to yield an affirmative responds as the president of Hannover 96, Martin Kind, apologize to the African players.

I reject such behavior 200%, such thought have no place in Hannover, we apologize in every form to Maize and the two players. He pleads.

Report has it that the league management committee will investigate the racial incident and penalize all those involved.
