Swiss National team defeats Serbia in 2-1 thrilling encounter.



On Friday night, June 22, the Swiss national team came back from a goal down to secure a hard earned victory over Serbia in their second Group E game at the Russia 2018 World Cup.

The Serbs scored the first goal through Aleksandar Mitrovic opener in the 5th minute, but Granit Xhaka gave the equalizing goal for the Swiss in the second half of the game.
Xherden Shaqiri scored the winning goals that gave Switzerland the vital win to reinstate their optimism of reaching the round of 16.

Serbia’s national team have themselves to blame for this sad defeat after permitting  ‘Xherden Shaqiri’ to score the winner at the injury added time.

Serbia’s fans relentlessly booed the Swiss players Shaqiri and Xhaka who scored both goals as they celebrate along the side lines after the game.

Serbia national team play their last group game against Brazil which they hope they will secure a win, while Switzerland will hope to secure a draw against Costa Rica to see them go through to the knock out stage.
