World football governing body ‘Fifa’ begins investigating claims by Rhian Brewster that his fellow team mate Morgan Gibbs-White was racially abused during the under-17 world cup final match by a Spanish opponent. The teenager made the allegation during an interview with the Guardian newspaper last week.
Brewster also claimed that he himself has been racially abuse and witnessed it on a football pitch several times, including five previous occasions in the past seven months.
Two of those occasion were all against other countries opponents during an international duty for England, with the most recent incident being the racial abuse directed at Gibbs-white in October last year in their 5-2 victory over spain in kalkata-India.
“We have received a complaints from the English football Association and we are scrutinizing and profiling more evidence.” Fifa spokeperson told the Press Association sports.
