Nasarawa United Fined N2million(naira) By The League Management Company



Organizers of the Nigeria Proffesional Football League, LMC, have fined Nasarawa united N2million naira for contravening the framework and rules of the league during their match day 1 clash aginst tittle holders Plateau united.

The officiating referee received unpleasant treatment amid crowd trouble at the Lafia township Stadium.

The League management compsny (LMC) listed out numbers of offences and possible sanctions against Nasarawa united.

1.      Nasarawa united failed to ensure adequate security, crowd control and restriction of unauthorized persons from restricted areas during the game.

2.      Nasarawa united’s lack of crowd control & failure to restrict unauthorized persons from tectnical areas led to their supporters gaining unlawful access to the dressing room of the referees at half time.

3.      Furhermore, Nasarawa united’s failure to ensure adequate security, crowd control and restriction of unauthorized persond from the restricted area areas led to the attack and assault of match officials at half time and after the match.

4.      A fine of N1million (naira) has been imposed on Nasarawa united for failure to ensure adequate security and crowd control which violated NPFL Rules and regulations.

5.      Nasarawa united will also pay N1million(naira being compensation for assault on the match officials, that is N250,000 each to the referee, AR1, AR2 and 4thofficial(reserve ref).

6.      Nasarawa united have 48 hours to appeal the sanctions imposed or accept them.
