Chelsea head coach reveals reasons why he substituted Eden Hazard during their clash against Manchester United. The young Belgian was replaced by Pedro Rodriguez just after the 70th minute of play. This ofcourse anger so many fans.
Chelsea took the lead with William’s early strike before Romelu Lukaku equalized for Man United. However, immediately Hazard was substituted, Chelsea fell 2-1 behind and the reds devils went ahead to win the game.
Chelsea fans believes Conte’s decision to substitute Hazard was a wrong move. Although, Chelsea coach defended his decision, claiming it was a tactical move. The manager also claimed that Hazard was a bit tired in the second half and his side needed a fresh legs.
Speaking in a news conference, Antonio Conte said-; “No Hazard was not injured. It was a tactical decision. You have to keep same level of performance for 90 minutes, we didn’t have a great balance and every single player has to work with the ball, otherwise we lose our balance.
I think he had finished his energy because the first half, he ran a lot. Second half he started the same way, but when I see a player is a bit tired, my task is to find a different solution.”
