No Austria team has ever reached the last Eight of the Europa League before. But RB Salzburg made history for the country, after a goaless draw in Austria with Borrusia Dortmud, meaning Salzburg got their quarter final ticket on a 2-1 aggregate.

Arsenal defeated Italian giant Ac Milan at the Emirate stadium with a 3-1 victory. With an aggregate score of 5-1, Arsenal qualified for the quarter finals.

Lyon were defeated at hoem by CSKA Moscow 2-3, leaving the aggregate score 3-3, which means that the Russia club qualified for the quarter finals. Wonderful strikes form Ahmed Musa, Pontius Wernbloom and Aleksandra Golovin help sealed CSKA Moscow place at the Europa quarter finals.

Lazio also qualified for the quarterfinals after defeating Dynamo Kiev 2-0. Their first leg tie ended 2-2, leaving an aggregate score of 4-2.

Two goals from Fernando Torres and one each from Angel Correa, Saul Niguez and Antonie Griezman saw the Spanish giant Atletico Madrid scoring an aggregate score line of 8-1. Locomotive Moscow had little to o effort to stop Diego Simeone boys, as they were defeated both home and away.

RB Leipzig were held down to a 1-1 draw at Zenith St Petersbourg on Thursday night. The german club went through to the quarter finals after 3-2 aggregates score.

A late header from Rodrigo Buttaglia in the first additional time gave sporting Lisbon a quarter finals tickets. The first leg tie ended 2-0 in favour of sporting, while the 2 leg tie, Viktoria Plzen by 2-0 full time before an Extra time was decided. 

On aggregate, the final score line ends in 3-2, which gave Sporting Lisbon an edge.
